It felt like a sunny day in North bay, I had to have been in 6th grade. The excitement kicked in when everyone lined up to head into the buses.
“ let’s be bus partners” exclaimed Alexandra. “ okay, Yeah! I was just about to ask you” responds Fatima. We headed to the bus and took our seats. The trip on the bus felt like forever. We spent what felt like hours staring out into the window. The trip was a journey. We watched ICarly on our phone. Next, we ate our snacks, then we listened to music.
“ Remember when we went camping Schmidt, and those scary stories were told,” asks Katia sitting a row up front.
“ That was so scary, I don’t even want to think about it. Let’s talk about the bay. I heard was a fireworks show” says Alexandra
“ I heard the bay was a mirror, the water is clear, the place screams colors, “ says Fatima
“I’m so excited, I cannot wait to see,” says Alexandra. On the road, we go until what felt like light-years away.
“Wake up! We are here” Loudly interrupts Ms. Davis,
“Everyone makes sure you have all you’re belongings, don’t forget anything on the bus”
It was a sunny day in the Chesapeake Bay. Everything felt “normal”. We were with our school peers doing science experiments at a bay. Except for it wasn’t an average day. The whole day consisted of fun school activities. It wasn’t like sitting on your desk and listening. It was collecting shells, and looking at the habitat of different species.

ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I read this:
“let’s be bus partners” exclaimed Alexandra.
It takes me back to junior high school field trips. I haven't thought about those times in years.
I think you did a great job setting off your story with your first couple of lines.
Nice work!
