1 How is your research going so far, and what is the best source for information that you have found? Why?
2 How will you structure your Presentation and focus it? Do you have an introduction idea yet?
3 What do you see as the two main themes or ideas that you need to communicate?
1. The best source I found is a financial website. It explains many of the nuances of being a day trader.
ReplyDelete2. The presentation focuses on why day trading could be my calling and might be someone else’s. The focus is on the main themes, which currently are personality and skill-set. I have several introduction ideas that I need to further investigate.
3. Currently, I think the two ideas I need to communicate are personality and skill-set.
My perceptions are that day traders enjoy risk. Is that true and might that be a part of the appeal? Another observation to consider: many people think day trading is easy and don't see the risk involved and skill needed to manage it. This will be fun to see what you come up with and decide to focus on. Have fun with it, Chris. Thanks for getting us started with your Update!
ReplyDelete1. The best source that I have found is an actual SWAT medic. His name is Jacob. He has been able to tell me his story and what this job is actually like.
ReplyDelete2. This presentation focuses on why people have a calling to this job and how it can relate to the military. This could be a good civilian job for veterans because for some, all they know is military. I am still trying to figure out how to introduce it. Maybe starting with how Jacob was called to it.
3. I think the two ideas that I need to communicate are passion and motivation.
1. The best sources I have found are personal testimonies. I have found lots of information on line, and have had conversations with captain Dean. The idea I would like to set is better explained directly from sources.
ReplyDelete2.As for an introduction I am still going back an forth between a few ideas. The focus I am shooting for will be freedom and building relationships.
3. The two main points I am trying to get across will be money does not buy happiness, and providing an enjoyable service and learning about others is priceless.
1.)So far my research is going great. I have found interviews online with several Storyboard artists that love their job and explain in detail what they do.
ReplyDelete2.)I have a pretty good idea for my introduction. Then I will do the next section on what the job is exactly. Then talk about why this job was a calling for them.
3.)Two themes I have found while researching this career are freedom of creativity + a feeling of fulfillment when a project is brought to life.
Alia, it seems like things are shaping up nicely, and that organization makes sense. I like those themes as I had suspected the creativity was a draw. The feeling of fulfillment is another good one and it will be fun to hear how that applies specifically to the task of making storyboards. Look forward to what everyone comes up with for next week!

3)2 Themes that i need to communicate are it is never too late to find your calling and that you'll most likely go through 2 or 3 calling before you find your actual one.
Abshir, good job and make sure you focus also on a couple specific reasons why people find this job to be their calling or why they find great purpose and meaning in this job, as that is your thesis question to answer for the Presentations. We look forward to you sharing what you find!
