Journal 8 by Fatima Cisse

  • I have enjoyed this class a lot. I noticed growth regarding my writing. I learned to provide more detail, and also keep the reader engaged. In my writings, especially the blog posts, I noticed it is difficult to reply to people at the beginning of the classes. I would not know what to write. I would overthink. However, I feel like I now find myself being able to keep conversations going. I find something I can relate to and branch off from there. The other thing I do is read and give what I felt I agreed on, or what I understood. In regards to essays, I found myself not being able to keep to one idea. I would branch off. I learned to outline properly. I would write down the main topics, and the important details and go from there.

  • I liked that this course felt like I was in a classroom. Although it didn’t happen because of the pandemic, I liked that I could email my professor and get a response almost right away if I had a question. I liked when we had the discussions we would share what we discovered with each other. You get an understanding of what people took away from readings. I find it hard to keep up with online courses, but this class was set up very well. I would go to Carmen, and easily look up the most recent things that needed to be completed.

  1. Fatima,

I agree with you in the beginning of the semester I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what to say on the blog. I feel like as the semester progressed we could have had more time to discuss because everyone was engaged. I also found it easy to communicate with the Professor. I liked the structure and organization of this online class, it was easy to find assignments with instructions and due dates. The Professor did a good job of pulling us together as a small group. I hope you enjoy your summer.
